Kotas have become a staple all over India for their ease of drape and how airy they are. But an Aavaranaa kota doriya saree, has to be a class apart. So let us introduce to you this half and half green and red kota doriya saree. The pleats are red and plain while the rest of the body is green and embroidered all over with kutchi squares in complimentary colours. It is also finished with a printed colourful cotton border and a blouse in the same fabric. Experience the comfort of a Kota doriya saree like many others, but revel in a style that sets you apart from the rest.

Story - Kutch embroidery

Surface embelishments have been a way we like to add a unique touch to our saris. And we absolutely adore how various crafts come together to create a multi-craft fabric. One such range is our Tuhina sarees where kutch work & mukaish work were used to enhance the appeal of organzas. As always, the idea grows & evolves and takes shape. As we saw how impactful the craft was, we also designed a range of kutch work blouses called Barkha. Since there was a lot of appreciation for these ranges, we designed a range of Kanchipuram cotton & silk sarees with kutchwork embroidery under the range Jivika. Needless to say, every range has been designed keeping in mind a specific aesthetic & design sense. The Tuhina range features self-colour embroidery which gives the sarees a monochrome appeal. Barkha blouses were designed to ensure they could be easily mixed & matched with other silks. The Jivika range features contrasting colours in traditional Kanchipuram colour palettes. They each have a unique appeal.

Care Instructions

Cotton & Kota Doria are natural fabrics and are some of the most comfortable fabrics for summer. At aavaranaa, we take care to source only handloom fabrics. Read how to take care of them.

# Cottons and cotton kotas are easy to maintain and can even be machine washed on gentle cycle. However, if your cotton has been enhanced with natural dye prints, embroidery or kalamkari, kindly avoid machine washing them. Washing them in machine with harsh chemicals may result in them fading quickly.

# Since a majority of our fabrics use natural dyes, we recommend testing if they bleed and washing them separately for the first few washes. If they bleed colour, we recommend soaking them in salt water and washing with gentle detergents or shampoo or dry cleaning them

# If your fabric has undergone a couple of drycleans, you can start washing them at home (not kalamkari).

# Avoid tumble dry and always line dry under shade to ensure a long life for your fabrics
